The Chapel Hill North Community Association is officially back.

We held our Annual General Meeting on November 28 at the Orléans Library. Former president Katie Morrisette shared a short history of the association, including its active early years, the pause during COVID, and why it’s been quiet for the past few years. The meeting marked a fresh restart.

A new Board is now in place for 2025–2026:

Councillor Laura Dudas joined the meeting and spoke about why community associations matter. She shared updates on City priorities, including road work, the status of LRT, and the long-awaited Bob MacQuarrie gym project, which is ready to go once federal funding is approved.

We also reviewed the association’s finances. Right now, we’re in a transition year with a small balance. The goal for 2026 is to raise about $8,000 through sponsorships and donations to cover basics like insurance, communications, and keeping the association running.

Looking ahead, the focus is simple: listen first and build something that lasts. In 2026, we’ll be holding town halls, running surveys, and putting clear systems in place so the association stays active and responsive over time.
