Chapel Hill North: Stories Project

Capturing the everyday moments, memories, and histories that shape our neighbourhood over time.

The Moments that Matter

Chapel Hill North Stories is about the moments that make this neighbourhood feel like home.

Not just the big milestones or official history, but the everyday things—school routines, shared meals, backyard conversations, community events, familiar streets, and the memories that come up when people start talking.

A lot of those moments don’t get written down. They live in photo boxes, old papers, or in stories people tell once in a while and then move on from. Over time, they can get scattered or forgotten.

This is a way to bring them together.

It’s something that grows over time, shaped by the people who have lived here, are here now, and will be here in the future. It connects different generations of the neighbourhood, and makes space for both long-time residents and newer ones to be part of the same story.

It’s also a way of recognizing the people who built this community—and the families who continue to shape what it’s becoming.

Because when we share these kinds of stories, something shifts. The neighbourhood feels more familiar, more connected, more like something we’re all part of.

Wait! We Need Your Help!

If a memory came to mind while reading this, that’s probably the one to share.

It doesn’t need to be polished or important—just something you remember.

You can upload a photo, write a few lines, or both. It only takes a couple of minutes, and it becomes part of something the whole community can see and connect to.

Submit your story through the button above, or send it directly to chapelhillnorth.ca@gmail.com.
